Health Safety Environment

Purposes:

- Minimize hazards & risk

- Personal health & safety

- Quality of working life & the environment

- Improving worker performance & morale

- Identify and remove any potential hazards

Cutting appliances, cables, desks, chairs, shelving

 

Environmental Responsibilities

In the office:

•Use recyclable paper & packaging

• Printing on both sides as far as possible

• Print in economy mode (avoid as far as possible the printing color)

• Waste separation for recycling: paper, plastics and metals.

• Use of non-pollutant cleaning chemicals

• Use, as far as possible, energy saving devices

 

HSE application in vendors facilities

 

• Identify internal HSE rules of company visited

• If the company visited hasn’t a HSE management system, mentioned in your report.

• Ensure you have all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (e.g. hard hat, safety boots , coveralls, safety glasses, gloves, ear protectors)

If not ask vendor to provide to you.

• In plant observe, speed limits, marked walkways, the internal rules of safety, note emergency exits

 

• Be aware of potential hazards such as overhead cranes, forklift trucks, welding, overhead loads and obey signals from operators …etc.

• Do not enter designated danger areas unless this is essential for mission but only when authorized by a responsible representative of the site

• Do not pass within barriers surrounding presses, punches, shears and similar machines.

 

• Take care particularly when items are being stacked or loaded or off-loaded from trucks or containers

• Never approach grinding operations, welding operations or other obvious hazard areas without protective equipments required.

• Whether warning signs are posted follow them.

• Keep a safe distance from all gases, fluids or liquids which may be hazardous to your health.

• In safety tests closely follow the instructions of your contact on site.  Stay vigilant at any time, note and report any incidents of concern

 

Personal Health & Safety

• Do regular assessments of your health, your eyesight to ensure your ability to work.

 

In car:

• Ensure, regularly, proper maintenance of your vehicle

• Wear safety belts at all times and instruct all passengers to do the same;

• Observe the designated speed limits & Adapt your speed to traffic conditions

• Do not consume alcohol or illegal substances.

• On long car trips, take regular breaks of at least 10 minutes (eg: walk around your car.

• Avoid take the road for a long drive at the end of a long workday.

• When driving, do not use mobile phone without appropriate hands-free equipment.

1°) Acknowledges having read & accept the HSE policy of ESTA about:

• (Personal health & safety, Ergonomics rules)

• Wearing hygiene clothing in agrifood

• Safety in car (speed limits, seat belt safety, respect of the Highway Code…)

• Environment Responsibilities (in the office, in car)

 

2°) Each inspector must respect the following rules

Wear his:
• Personal Protective Equipment

• High visibility clothing

• Foot protection

Having in his car:
• First aid kit


3°) In the company visited:

  • Respect the rules requested  by the authorized responsible representative of the site
  • Identify & respect the internal HSE& hygiene policy.
  • Internal speed limits, marked walkways, the internal rules of safety, note emergency exits
  • Be aware of potential hazards such as overhead cranes, forklift trucks, welding, overhead loads and obey signals from operators
